Resetting the Script Path

I am having trouble within an Application that is related to the Script Path. We are operating through a network, but each workstation, 12 of them, has Alpha4V6 loaded on the local (C Drive). The script path on each machine automatically defaults to C:Alpha4V6 but it should be F:APPSALPHA4V6KOBKP. So I tried to set up a script to reset this and the system error received is that you can't run a script file into an Application. HELP!!!!!

Try this:

{SET %SYS_SCRIPT_PATH, "F:APPSALPHA4V6KOBKP"}

PS: I assume you have some "" in that string? Like:
F:APPSALPHA4V6KOBKP

OK, that's interesting: I can't type a backslant in this forum. Wassup with that? You must have tried the same thing, Pamela.

I attempted to type:
F:APPS{backslant}ALPHA4V6{backslant}KOBKP

And I bet you did, too.

Hi Pamela

I looked at some of my old reference materials and came across this. I don't know the author. Hope it helps.

1. Press ALT-F3 to bring up the script memu.
2. Select "SET SCRIPT PATH" and make sure it's set to your startup directory i.e. (C:alpha4v4) or in your case your network script path.
3. Press F-10 to save your settings and return to the scripts menu.
4. Press K to select "Create Keystroke Script".
5. Type "Autoexec" into the name field, press Enter.
6. Type a meaningful description into the next field, such as "set script path to data path".
7. Press Enter at the "KEYS/COMMAND" fields to enter edit mode.
8. Press F2 for "COMMANDS", followed by "S" and "E" to get the {SET...} command; press Enter to display a Set Expression in the "Keys/Commands" field, which we'll edit next.
9. Delete " %VAR ", press F8 to go to the variables screen, select "%SYS_SCRIPT_PATH", press enter to add this variable to the script.
10. Delete "%TEXT" and replace it with "". The script should now read: {SET %SYS_SCRIPT_PATH,""}
11. Press F10 twice to save the script.

I realize you probably didn't need all the basic information about creating scripts. But the process itself might point out where you went wrong in your original script.

I forget to say what the result of this script will be if it's not clear already.

"Now, every time you start Alpha Four, your script path will follow your data path, no matter how many times you change directories."

line 10 should read;

10. Delete "%TEXT" and replace it with "". The script should now read: {SET %SYS_SCRIPT_PATH,""}

This is nuts what is it with editor for this board??

10. Delete "%TEXT" and replace it with "". The script should now read: {SET %SYS_SCRIPT_PATH,"datapath"}.

DataPath is suppose to have open and close "arrow" brackets around it but is not being accepted on the board.
