I guess this is as good a place as nay for this note.
In all the time I've been using Alpha products, A4 & A5 in their various flavors, I have had the pleasure of meeting (face to face and online) other Alpha users from literally around the world and I count all of you as friends by all the definitions of that word. I've always maintained that the Alpha community is one of, if not the strongest, selling points of the product.
In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, I've received emails and phone calls from other users who know that I'm live in Louisiana expressing concern about how we are doing and how the hurricane treated us. I'm glad to say that we are watching the weather and news, just as you all are.
Given that we are located in the far northwest corner of the state, just outside Shreveport, we are glued to the Weather Channel just as many of you are. As I just told an Alpha friend, we are due east of Dallas and in fact closer to Dallas (3 hours) than N.O. (5-7 hours), depending on traffic and route taken, so the hurricane is only bringing us clouds and some rain. In fact, our area is providing shelter and refuge for people directly by Katrina.
I know New Orleans well, in fact my wife and I were there three weeks ago while she attended a training seminar. Many of the scenes on TV, that are abstract visuals of Katrina's power and wrath to some, are real to me. I've walked those streets, shopped and eaten in those stores, watched my beloved, but infruating, Saints in the Superdome.
Thanks for your thoughts and just pray for the victims.
Dave
