The OpenSSL Project announced the end of life for OpenSSL 0.9.8 today. According to the announcement sent to their mailing lists (but not yet available directly on their web site),
Support for version 0.9.8 will cease on 31st December 2015.

No further releases of 0.9.8 will be made after that date. Security fixes only
will be applied to 0.9.8 until then.
The Application Server in versions 10 and prior use OpenSSL 0.9.8. This means that fixes for any future SSL vulnerabilities will not be available after the announced date. As this is third-party software, Alpha Software has no control over this.

Customers running a V10 or prior Application Server and using SSL should upgrade their server before this time in order to ensure server security. Alpha began using OpenSSL 1.0.1 in version 11 so customers with a V11 or newer server are not impacted by this announcement.
