Hi,
Even though I stopped using Alpha Five, I found back an old A5v5 database with test code for the EZTwainX ActiveX from Dosadi and it would be a pity not to share this with the Alpha Five Community. I dusted this example off and got it running again in A5v8 under Windows XP PRO. If this example also runs well on Vista I don't know and you have to test it. This example and its code is for educational purpose only and use it at your own risk.
In this database there are 4 examples:
1 Timer Control gadget
2 EZTwainX Form example
3 EZTwainX Web example with vbscript and DHTML
4 EZTwainX XDialog example
Before you can run these examples you have to download and install the Timer Control ActiveX (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/190045) and the Dosadi EZTwainX 30 day's trial version (http://www.dosadi.com/eztx/index.htm). Do not forget the most important piece. You need a TWAIN compatible scanner installed. I created and tested these examples with an HP2840.

I want to thank Dr. Peter Wayne who made the first steps in the Twain World and showed on his site how to start. Thank you Peter.
The form version is a free interpreted build after an Visual Basic example I saw in the EZTwainPro version and is a kind of translation into Xbasic.
I found the EZTwainX and EZTwainPro versions extreme stable in use with Alpha Five v5, v7, v8.
Have some nice tinkering.
