I am for the first time, attempting to connect to a MySQL server with A5.
MySQL is running in session 0 on 'localhost', and can be accessed using the command line interface and using Navicat. In A5, I'm getting an "Unable to connect" message. Not finding anything in help, or anything that seems to relate in "settings." The connection info in A5 seem to match the same in Navicat except that Navicat has a "Named Pipe, Socket" setting that I have not found in A5. Any idea what I'm missing or doing wrong?
For what it's worth, I've tried starting MySQL both maually and automatically with the same result. I've tried as the root user, and as another user. In every case I've tried, Navicat and command-line work, but A5 does not connect.
I'm using Win7 x64, MySQL v 5.5.23, A5v11 build 2549.
In A5 I'm using the connection wizard: Select Database>Create a database from linked data>Define Connection String to Connect to your Database>
In the "Create SQL Connection String" window, these are my settings:
"Database" is empty, as is the drop down list. If I click "Refresh", A5 displays an hourglass for about 1 second, and the "Database" textbox and dropdown remain empty.
When I click the "Test Connection" button:
