Default Using different email accounts in a "send email" action script

    Hi
In my dialog, upon saving, i have a "send email message" action script in place that sends the currently submitted data.
How can i have it send from different users, depending on the currently logged in user?

    Thanks
    Jaime

If you use email_send2() two of the parameters are .from and .from_alias, which are email address and name, respectively. So you could pull those values from your user list as the email is being sent.

Now that I've typed this, I see you said you are using Action Script. Sorry - I don't use this method so not sure. In general when you use a built in feature like this, there are limitations. I would build it out using xbasic.

    Hi Steve
Thanks for helping. Checked the docs for email_send2, and i see it has a profile as parameter. Should i create a profile that uses one of the accounts, then use the .from in the call so that when somebody replies to the email, this will go to the right user?

I would not use Profile unless you only had a few employees and their data does not change much. You would need to create a valid profile for each user. It is the same effort just to grab their name and email from a list as it is to grab their Profile value.

So, i should create a profile for each user, then use the correct profile in the parameter for email_send2? Seems easily doable...
    Thanks a lot
