    Default Grid format international currency

    Hi All

    Is there a reason why I cannot use the formatCurrency() function in a calculated field expression? I wish to display a calculated field in Euro. The str() function doesn't seem to have a format for that. Just one for dollars.

    Regards,

    Phil

    You should be able to use the str function as follows:

    str(23434.34,12,2,"$,") -> " $23,434.34"

    However, you will need to insert the Euro image where the $ image is now.

    Hi Charles,

    I think I tried that, but not sure what to put in there. The usual way to enter a Euro sign (€) for most fonts is Ctrl+Alt+4. I think I tried putting in 'Eur' as well ... I am away from my dev machine and can't test. I'll look again when I get home and report back to you. Thanks for having a look at this.

    OK. The Euro is symbol character 128, so.....

    chr(128)+ltrim(str(23434.34,12,2,","))="€23,434.34"

    Will that work for you?

    Hi Charles,

    Sadly no go.

    Attached are some pics ...

    The formatting is lost when the field is a calculated field. Works fine if the field is a normal field. No symbol at all, just the amount.

    The two fields the pictures are from are the VATTotal field and the LineTotal fields ... you can see how these are displayed in the picture chrome.jpg ... No euro symbol.

    In the totalling fields I have tried your expression (chr128) and also just inputting the euro symbol with ctrl+alt+4 ... I get a question mark symbol in both cases.
