Hi again! I have a new item that came up!
I have a grid that is based off of a sql table. My grid has a detail view with tabs. I have formulas and lookup and fill ins and onchange events that happen when I enter a new record into my detail view OR I update data from the detail view. I also have an 'Import from Excel' button so that I can import rows of data at one time and not have to manually add the data one at a time using the detail view. However, I cannot figure out how to get the formulas, lookup and fill in values and the onchange events to trigger for those rows that I just imported. Some examples of the items I want to work are:
I enter a job code from an auto-suggest text box when in detail view and my auto-suggest is set up to auto-fill the job title and job level. That does not happen when I do an import.
I have an org layer number field. I have a position layer number field. If the position is a manager position then it should take the same number as the org layer number. If the position is an individual contributor position then it needs to +1 to the org layer number. This works fine when I add a record in the detail view but does not do anything when I import.
I have the users id entered for the Last Update By field and also the date for the Last Update Date field. This works fine when I add a record in the detail view but does not update this when I import.
These are just a few examples. I'm sure there is some text that I can put somewhere that will trigger these formulas, events, lookups and fill ins to run when I do an import from excel but I just can't seem to find the answer or figure it out.
