Default Icon to use an app on their mobile device

Will users be able to download an Icon to use an app on their mobile device?

If a beta tester has done this, if possible, please supply link.

    Keith,
Remember this is not an app on their mobile device (at least not yet). It is opened in safari or whatever browser you are using) You can add the web page to your home screen. but it is a screen shot of the page you are on, not very elegant looking. There are probably apps available to change the icon you are using.

Apple has a method for doing this with Safari on iOS - see the following URL

    http://developer.apple.com/library/i...lications.html

The approach I have used is the following:
To specify an icon for the entire website (every page on the website), place an icon file in PNG format in the root document folder called apple-touch-icon.png or apple-touch-icon-precomposed.png. If you use apple-touch-icon-precomposed.png as the filename, Safari on iOS won’t add any effects to the icon. You can then save the icon to the home screen - the icon serves as a hyperlink to the web site.

This is an even better tutorial on how to have an application specific icon.
