    Default This is a test......

And only a test of the upload capabilities of the forums. The image or lack thereof tells the story.

    Ken

I was able to upload this file....

Try downloading it and uploading to another post in this thread...

I was also unable to upload another file that another user was unable to upload...

I'll send both files to Alpha based on your test results..

A related question, please. How do I delete the entries from my "manage uploads" screen? I have 455. Maybe I've hit some sort of limit. ??

    upload test from Steve W.

Upload of a small gif fails first test. Did not appear as an attachment after clicking Upload button.

I am toggling your Manage Attachments to the alternate view which shows ALL of your previous uploads. I bet there is a max allowed and you've hit it.

second attempt after toggling to "Enhanced Attachment Uploading" which is an option in your Settings.

This attempt also failed but at least gave me a notice that the upload failed!

    ---

Ken --> here is what I think you should do - click Reply. Go to Advanced. Click Manage Attachments. The screen will look different than you are used to. You will see all of your previous uploads (103). Delete a couple old ones to create some space. Then try an upload. You can toggle back to Normal Attachment Uploading (which is lot easier to use than their enhanced version) by going to Settings and finding Manage Attachments.

BTW, kinda creepy being someone else on the forum. Better change your password when this is all figured out.

    I am logging out now.

View your profile, settings. Last menu item at bottom left for mine is Attachments. Looks like you can delete them there.

Doesn't seem 455 is too many unless they are all very large.

    I see

You are currently using 94.47 MB to store 1,729 uploaded attachments.

    Tom,

If you're asking me, the interface is like the forum private messaging. Check the entries you want to remove and scroll down to the bottom to Delete Selected.

Well, I tried to delete an entire page of files but like Tom, found no place to delete them. Does the browser make a difference? I'm using Fire Fox.

try creating a new sub folder underneath the home folder in the left panel and moving some of your uploads there.

I always get a red ! upload failed notice.

Many (about ten) items in my Manage Attachments are just question marks. I deleted them from Settings, My Settings, Attachments, but they still appear in Manage Attachments.

Attaching appears to work, just uploading and deleting are busted

Al tried to help me with this a year or two ago, but to no avail. I suspect Lenny at Alpha would be the best person to contact on this, but I also suspect it might be a while before he could help, due to the new release at Alpha.

Another approach might be to just make a new logon, with a new password, etc., that has no history, and forget about the old one.

Ken, it's humungous! I am unable to attach with a brand new account. Next step is to try from a different machine - which has a different browser.

Ratz. Different account, different computer, different browser, different type of file to upload. Nada, zippo, zilch.

I was able to upload a week ago.

    Anything else to try?

Steve Wood took a look at this problem and could not solve it. I have no idea if it's an Alpha problem or a whoever designed the message board problem.
