Email Settings and Office 365

I set email profiles on the WAS all the time without issue until now that is. I have a need to connect to office 365 exchange and it is just not working. Follow all the exchange requirements which are not disimilar to "normal" exchange but it does not connect.

Has anyone else experienced/tried this?

Glen, I'm just about to try this. What settings did you use? As I go through it, I'll post what I tried and the results here.

Hi Pat

Incoming: using outlook.office365.com
outgoing: smtp.office365.com

SMTP port 587
POP port 995

When testing the settings get the following error message:

Connect to Outgoing (SMTP) Server failed:
The hostname might be incorrect or the server may be down.
Secure Sockets Layer OpenSSL Error
OpenSSL Description: error:140770FC:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:unknown protocol
Error occurred in INET::SSLSocket::Connect

Did you ever manage to get Alpha to send emails using Office 365 setting ?

Sorry for the delay in responding.

No I ended up using an alternate for that client. Will probably be having another go in the not to distant future for another client!

We have found that these settings work. Use smtp.office365.com as the smtp server, on the sending tab choose log on using the settings below and fill in the email address and password, choose TLS and smtp port 587, Alphas test does not work just like Hotmail but if you ignore the TEST and send, this sends successfully.

Setting use secure connection to TLS is what did it for me, THANK YOU Michael!
Using smtp.bizmail.yahoo.com and SMTP port set to 25 works on mine anyway.
