    Default Dynamically change upload path for file upload component

    I am trying to make my application portable. After watching the videos on path aliases it seems that this is only relevant to .dbf files and MS access. I am trying to change the upload location based on the profile value and it this not working. I always have to hard code the path, therefore my directory structure has to be the same for Development, QA and Production.

    Code:
    'construct a filename. this is a server side filename. we want to store the files in the 'images' folder.
        fn = "C:\A5Webroot\gbsdev\images" + chr(92)+ Session.fileGuid + "-" + e.fileArray[i].fileName

        'save the binary data to a file
        file.From_blob(fn,data)

        dim fntoStore as c
        fntoStore = "C:\A5Webroot\gbsdev\images" + chr(92) + Session.fileGuid + "-" + e.fileArray[i].fileName
    Is there a way to do this?

    Have a look at Selwyn's videos about detailed info regarding file and image upload... may be what you need.

    Thanks, I had seen that, but it does not go into multiple files as a user defined file upload.

    Is session.fileGuid your profile value? If so, then you've got your array of file information in e.fileArray so you should be able to do anything you want to with the array of files... write them anywhere you want to.
