Appending or Copying Records to a Child Table

I am not sure which command would be the best? I have a Contractor (Parent) -> Pricing (Child One to Many) table in this set. Each contractor has slightly different pricing so my thought was to copy all the base quote info from a List Pricing table to the Contractor -> Pricing (Child) table, when i do do that it does not have the correct customer # that is in the system. It copies it to the table but does not put the correct Customer Number in when i hit the button on the screen.

Any thoughts on how to make this copy/append this info into the child table? The List pricing table does not have any customer number it is just base rates that we build custom rates off of when we pull the info in. Just looking for an easier way to populate the pricing matrix.

I did like this ..

Contractor database has
Contractor_id -- Price Level --
Abc A (35% discount)
def A (35% discount)
123 B (20 % Discount)

Some where you need the cost/price, Cost = Pricebook $ - (pricebook $ * A price level(*** lookup the value condition with code ****)

Thanks I tried doing it that way but literally all 1500 customers have different pricing. I either need to be able to copy data into the child table as default info or maybe different structure...?

1500 customers x n number of items = ????,

I think If you have less than 10 Items -- maybe "ok" but still 1500 x 10 = 15,000 lines to change the price

My question is how do you want to handle it when it is required update?

We are a supplier and manufacture so we have about 50 items that could range from 2.50/ft to 8.00/ft on up. Because we cover and distribute throughout the US our pricing is adjusted to each city/demographic so we need to be flexible on what we charge. It is not as easy for us to set a multiplier because each item would have to have it's own multiplier then fore each item and then each customer. The easiest "I Think" would be to have base pricing that is copied into the child table (pricing) of the Contractor that at least populates the items then we just set the pricing. For pricing updates i plan on using the append feature. but for this pricing issue i can't seem to copy those records in and give them the same customer number of the file i am looking at. Your help is appreciated.

That(Appending) is an easy way. I think you have think about an Item on Sale or any reason you have to change your cost an Item now... case.

Are you going to append an Item x 1500 customer again?

Another idea, Your Standard Price + Add cost by Customer Location(Zip Code) or others = Price by zip code.
so when you will update your standard cost, it will give you lot more easier/flexibility to change the contractors cost.
