I am not even sure where to search on the forum for this question...
I have a start up form that gives user a check list of "stuff" that can happen on a specific date. It is part of a set, which connects tables for the various "stuff that actually did happen on that date. The primary table includes a primary field (and therefore subsequent child linking field in other tables) called Date_Happened (and it is a date field).
When I open the form I want it to present only actual dates in current month that have "stuff" that has actually happened. I also want to be able to offer a user a selection of months where other "stuff" has happened. IOW, the form would have a browse with the current month check list and some means of filtering the database to a different month of happenings.
I have successfully filtered the form so when it opens (or activates) it shows only the current month/year but that creates a problem with any further filtering process as the form always wants to be the current month and year.
I have tried a button that presents a dialog box with a record list combo type box to present a variable set choice of cmonth(Date_Happened)+"/"+cyear(Date_Happened) but the query process does not find the unique request (I did check the unique only option when setting the filter).
Attached are three images that hopefully give some idea of the form and its filtering.
What I need is a user friendly/ efficient way of filtering to other months as indicated in the unfiltered image there are in the set.
