Programmatically Click button on Button List

Hi All,

Simple question I hope. Does any know how to programmatically click a button on Button List?

{dialog.object}.buttonClick('BUTTONS:1');

This does not appear to work?

You need to find the id of each of the buttons and then use .click() with that id... have a look...

The method you're trying is for clicking a button in the specified row of a Repeating Section.

Hi,

Thanks for that however the my buttons are defined by a data series and the ID keep changing as a result of (I expect) {dialog.Object}.refreshDataSeries('BUTTONS'); . The button I want to press is the first button in the series and is consistent.

Any thoughts?

Could you post some details about how your data series is defined. SQL, Static, etc. Maybe a couple of examples. To get to an answer I'd need to where to start. Does your data series change?

The general answer is to grab the button control, then grab it's first child (the first button) and then click it. But I want to get the right data in place first to test it.

Try this...

You can do this a couple of ways... they are both essentially the same, but one way is split into a few steps. Change "BTNLIST" for your control name... only in the first line.

This grabs the button list element... grabs the first child of that element... then clicks it.

var btnListParent = $('{dialog.ComponentName}.V.R1.BTNLIST.CONTROL');
var firstBtn = btnListParent.children[0];
$(firstBtn.id).click();

or... all at once,

$('{dialog.ComponentName}.V.R1.BTNLIST.CONTROL').children[0].click();
