I GOOFED somehow

Have an old db that I've been working on for years. Tried to add a new field, date, when I went to update the db I got a warning message, but went ahead anyway. Now my db is completely corrupted and I can't figure out how to restore it. Of course, I didn't back it up. Any ideas? Thank you. Dennis

There are a couple of dbase 'repair' systems that you can google to find.

One is called dsalvage - you may want to check that out.

Or send me the file(s) and I'll see if they can be repaired.

I can do nothing. The program moved data all over the place, splitting records into 2 or 3, etc. A total disaster.

Be sure to (right now) zip up the entire contents exactly as they are so you have a fallback in case you make things worse.

This is A4V6, is that DBF tables?

Unless there is something special about this, data does not really "move all over the place, splitting records into 2 or 3, etc". That is too general of a description.

What was the warning message? What happened right after you "went ahead anyway"? How are you looking at the data, through your normal application or with Excel or something?
