Back in April I put in a project request on the main Alpha website. I needed someone to help me get a web based SaaS version of my desktop app going. No one contacted me until June and this was after I mentioned to Alpha in May that no one had ever contacted me about my project request. I do not fault Alpha for this delay as I am sure the developers just needed to feel they had time.
So in the beginning of June I was contacted by a developer and had a nice conversation with them about my project. After the talk I told them it would take me a few weeks to notate my existing desktop code they wanted to see plus write the summery about what I needed and how it needed to work.
About 3 weeks later I had all of that done and had secured funding so I sent all the info to them. They stated that it would not be until the middle of July before they could look at it so that was a little over a two week wait. I was also told if I did not hear from them to email a reminder. I sent the reminder the first of this week and have not even received an acknowledgment that they received my reminder email.
I had another developer contact me a few days after the first one and I told him I had already been contacted so he bowed out. I ask him to email his contact info just in case things did not work out with the first developer. but he never did. I now wish I had is contact info.
My budget is probably not a "Big Fish" but it is still very substantial to me. I also need to get my project off the ground and online as this will be my main source of income as I had to shut my other business down due to health reasons. If my budget was below their range of interest in doing it then at least let me know and I will find someone else.
To say the least I am getting frustrated and antsy as I am now 4 months into trying to kick this off and have gotten nowhere. That is 4 months I am now behind in getting my SaaS app going and getting some kind of income coming in off it. I am afraid before long I will have to start using my project budget money to live off of and then I will be screwed.
I could probably figure out how to develop the app myself but it would take me a month to figure out how to do something a knowledgeable developer could do in a day or less.
Anyway, just sounding off.
