Default What is the data type: K-UUID ??

Ok folks... dumb (but I gotta ask) question time:
In doing a Define Arguments in the Grid Builder, and inserting a new argument, what is a data type of K-UUID?

What sort of data does it represent? Where might I use it and/or why??

If you can, just point me to some docs. Neither google or a search on this forum gave anything worth having.

It is a type apparently introduced in v9 which is 32 wide. It is a "universally unique identifier", but probably you knew that already.
