AjaxCallBack help

I must be missing something real simple here because my callback isn't firing. This is in a grid/detail view. Here's the code...


onGridRenderComplete client-side event ...this appears to be working. I get my alert message as expected.

I would say your first and second alerts never fire. If your second alert fired I'd be very surprised.

You only get 1 return from the function... setting AutoPopulate doesn't stack up... you're overwriting AutoPopulate every time you set it... and the last one wins.

Debugging this function will show you Autopopulate being set each time.

If you really want to see them all you'd do this...

AutoPopulate="alert('xbasic function firing');"
AutoPopulate= AutoPopulate + "alert('staff ' + staffname + 'specialty ' + specialty);"

AutoPopulate= AutoPopulate + "{grid.object}.setValue('D', 'StaffName', staffname ); {grid.object}.setValue('D', 'StaffSpecialty', specialty);"

The lines of javascript code will fire one after the other when the function completes.

My bad. I wasn't very clear. Your right, none of my alerts fire in my xbasic code. I only placed the alerts there for testing as the function didn't seem to work in the first place. I didn't realize I only got one return. I removed all but one at the very end and commented out the set values part. That alert did fire so I know my functions is being called.

For those interested here is the final code...

onGridRenderComplete client-side event ...note that I added a delay between the new record method and the call back. This is so the component has time to complete the new record process. With out this delay the call back gets trashed.
