Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Grid row expander CSS

Is there a way to edit the CSS and change the row expander icon in v10?

Opening up either the A5 CSS editor - or the CSS file, doesn't seem to show an option. It must be set somewhere?

    the image comes from
    defaultwebprjects/css/your style/gridrowexpand.
I am sure if you make a local copy and save some other image it will be replaced in the grid.
I did not change my grid image, I just looked at the location where it is coming from.

I should have said at the outset that my client is using a legacy style TeaCup and there is neither such an icon in the folder nor placeholder in the CSS that I can find, at least. Maybe it's hardcoded somehow?

the source of that image in that css file is
        images/addItemSmall.png
if you make a local copy of the css and image file, there you may find it.
i inspected that element in developer tools. that is all i did.
did not follow thru to see how that can be changed.

          Re: Grid row expander CSS

I just searched the CSS file for "images/addItemSmall.png" - nada. Ditto for the /CSS/Teacup folder - and there is no /images folder either. I looked both in C:\Program Files (x86)\a5V10\CSS\TeaCup & in D:\A5Webroot\Client\CSS\TeaCup. No such png, no reference in CSS.

Where exactly are you seeing these?

I get it, it's hard-coded to the system. Which is what I had previously concluded. It's not in CSS and it's not a separate png image. It's one of Alpha's built in images hidden in some file. The give away is:

                  src="images/addItemSmall.png.a5image"

                    not in the webroot
it looks like it is appdata
search for that image in c: drive it gives you few shots.

I don't think that will help. If it's not under the webroot I can't get at it.

                        Peter,

In v10, check under the grid properties for the customization group - Customize icons.

You can change the images.rowexpander.open and images.rowexpander.close settings to change the images.

I know this is not through CSS, but hopefully it does what you need.

That was too easy. I've used this in the past but totally blanked out on it this time around.

                          Thanks much.
