Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

Re: Terms and Conditions on Invoice report?

    Hi Bob,

That sounds like the best solution, as that will give user maximum control.

I have used this method before but only to print the image and data on the same side of the page.

Please could you advise method to merge data on one side and pdf_text on reverse side.

Re: Terms and Conditions on Invoice report?

      Simple scenario:
1 have preprinted and all the user does is stick them in and print

2 user prints front, turns around and prints back in proper order
making sure of a good inkjet printer that does not cause bleed through of the ink.
Or making sure they changed the settings on a dotmatrix or it will definately will go through.

If it is me, of course, I will turn the paper around and print the back, but for 40 users in a car lot that change: not a chance that will ever work.

Point is, if it is a stead user group and not too many of them with good printers, you may work just fine.

My 700+ using my carlot app buy the cheapest printers, computers and paper they can find. I will use 22pd paper, top Epson printer and a decent computer.

Re: Terms and Conditions on Invoice report?

Hi Keith - the method I suggested is best suited to single sided printing - it would simply print the invoice first - however many pages it was and then the last page would be the terms.
I would try and avoid any other solution as it most likely would involve you in some code to make it work on a specific printer which would be fine until it was replaced by a different model which would require re-coding.

In summary - if they want it on the reverse of each page - go for pre printed stationery.

If you need any help with mechanics of merging the PDF files let me know.

            Hi Bob,
then the last page would be the terms.
Is this with the Ts and Cs printed on the reverse of the last page? Or just a another Report/Letter in the same print run?

Re: Terms and Conditions on Invoice report?

I did one a long time ago for a small office where I made the report(usually 3 pages) where the T&C had to pe printed on the back of one. Did it with 2 reports. After 3 pages were printed, I popped to another form with instructions to turn the 1st page over and reinsert and a print button that printed the one page of t&c.

                      Hi Gabe,

Thanks for your offer to help. There is rather a lot in my application to unpick to post a sample here. What with links in field rules and other stuff.

Is it not possible for you to show some screen shots of how you constructed the report you demonstrated in your video?

I really would appreciate some more visual help.

Please find attached "A5_Sports_Invoice_Custom.a5pkg". Importing this into AlphaSports will provide you with a new report called Invoice_custom. Report Invoice_Custom should provide you with what you are looking for.

Alpha5 would only allow me to place the page break object in the Group Footer object so you may need to create a fake group if you do not already have a group on your report. Detail, Detail Footer, and Page Footer sections did not allow a page break.
