Default File upload - PDF file not being uploaded to designated folder

    Hello all,

I'm using the FILE UPLOAD feature within a UX component. I designated the folder to save uploaded file to, however everytime I click the upload file, it is generating the link properly in my SQL table, however the file is not actually getting passed through to designated folder. THere are also no errors being generating saying that it was not sent.

    Any ideas?

Just a thought which may or may not be your problem: Double check your syntax for the upload folder and make sure you are designating the path properly. I have had situations where I thought it was uploading to root/appfolder/files when it was actually uploading to root/files (or vice versa, its been awhile). To test this you can try searching your server for the name of the uploaded file.

    Casey,

Have you watched Selwyn's video on File Uploads?

The file is not sent to the destination folder when you click to upload the file. It only goes to a temp folder. The file is moved to the destination folder when you Submit the UX. ANY error in your submit process or xbasic (if any) will cause the file to not get moved to the destination folder.

I would also add to be sure that you have the file type allowed, which again relates to Steve's advice of ANY error effectively halts the process and the temp file will never get sent to the folder you're wanting it to go to.

Thank you all, I was able to work by using the "submit" button...thank you, however this leads me to my next question

Is there away to submit the upload file to the designated folder without using the submit?

My dilemna is that I have a form that works perfectly by using strategically placed INSERT action javascript with no data binding, however when I try to implement the data binding to accommodate the submit button it is not inserting/updating in a desired manner..

I do not want to submit the whole form using the SUBMIT button, but rather dump the newly created upload line to a table.

    Thanks again, Casey
