Default Desktop plus Nodejs straight to mobile

This question is more mobile/desktop than browser related. Not sure where to post it.

Has anyone tried to use the nodejs integration with xbasic in a desktop app for realtime updates to mobile? My use case is high volume, complex, validated data entry that works best with desktop browses and active link tables. If those CRUD operations could be wrapped in a transaction which includes the necessary nodejs app for updating all mobile devices subscribed to the data, then holy heck! The WAS would only be used for "browsing" and concurrent user limits would be much higher.

Just not sure where to start or where the best xbasic/node documentation is.

With developer I do not see why this would not be possible. But I do not know if Alphas runtime do also install Node.
In fact you would not even need WAS because you can use xbasic to start separate Express server(s)

If I understand you correctly would this be for a real time data app ie. when data in the database changes, any clients viewing the data should see the changes immediately, or in real-time? If so then this can be done with node without the need for the Web App Server.
Google is your friend (node real-time data)

    Thanks for the pointers.

Ken, I forgot about the runtime install issue. Will bang my head and see if it works.

John, yes-realtime. Want to use the desktop forms/browses to push data directly to mobile (phone gap) and vice-versa. I would only need the WAS for a simple web browsing and no intensive data entry. Hopefully, the node handlers in xbasic work with desktop browse/form events. I suppose embedded grids running in desktop form can push also. Will try it and report back.
