Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

It is 22:00 in Indonesia so the boys will not respond to you message until the morning.

I have tried as well and it does not work. Sorry for the problems will try to have it working when the US wakes tomorrow.

My understanding is that you upload to our server, the content is checked to see it is appropriate and then we publish it.

We have spoken today about giving clearer feedback at each stage. I hope in one to two weeks we come up with a system that is both simple and practical.

      Hi Gandhi,
Sorry for that problem; as required files submission only supports a single ZIP and RAR format.
Would be great if you can re-upload required files in a ZIP / RAR. Again, thank for pointed out the unclear help about format, for more please go to user manual here how to ZIP files: zip.png

      Cheers,

I wonder if we could get a moderator to sticky this thread?

Re: New website with free Alpha components

            @Michael

I would agree a sticky would be good for alpha regarding this site.

As far as speed and help. Try: http://www.seocentro.com/tools/seo/seo-analyzer.html If you can get a speed of 80-90+, you are fine. I use it on all my sites to be sure I am correct.

Many of my friends doing windows hosting are using smarterasp.net. Not to say it is a good fit for your site with alpha(I just don't know).

Your assessment of memory is probably very accurate.

My sites have unlimited memory, bandwidth, websites, domains, etc., and plenty of space but are all on Linux which may not be so good for alpha at this time.

If there is any way I can help, please let me know.

Currently working with another developer that is building a windows server app on smarterasp.net that we hope to be run under Joomla that is sitting on a Linux server. Will know how it is going in about a month or so.

there are no uploads to your site except the content filling in,
step 1> I uploaded screen capture image - png file
step 2> filled the html file
              step 3> filled css
              step 4> filled in js
step 5> filled in tags, alpha version
step 6 click the button to save
popup appears to upload the component, why? it should not be necessary to upload any component.

Boys have gone to bed, Khanfi will reply in the morning. We will fix this manually for you and within a day or two have an edit routine. Please send him the details [email protected].

This site is in Beta we are trying to get the functionality working. When the site is working we will add Snips on a regular basis and put up a wishlist suggestions page in place.

I hope the direction is driven by the Alpha community rather than us thinking what we would like.
