Default Table Is Encrypted Using A Different Key

I am developing a desktop application and have encountered a big problem. Last week I ran a database compact which for some reason did not run successfully. I needed to log off and shut down A5. Today when I opened the database, I see 3 of my tables will not open, and I get the error message "table is encrypted using a different key". I also have about 25 scripts which have disappeared.

I have a backup, but natch, it's before I was doing some intensive work on the app.

Any thoughts which may help me solve this and get back to where I was would be most appreciated. I'm using A5 10.5 on Win 7.

    Thanks in advance.

I just have not seen a viable answer to the problem you have on this forum, and I have not been able to correct it myself.
Possible alpha may have a way if you contact them.

Does anyone know if the encryption key file has an .a5act extension? And if its not that - does anyone know what type file it is?

I just tried setting a password and encrypting the tables in AlphaSports. After doing so no .a5act file was found. I would think that Alpha sets a flag in the dbf or support files rather than having a separate encryption file. Note that an encrypted table cannot be opened with Excel as normal dbf's can. Would lead me to believe the dbf itself is modified.
    There can be only one.
