Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

Problem repeation section calculated field comma as decimal

Since we installed the latest official version:
Alpha Anywhere Version (Registered): 12 Compiler: Microsoft C Compiler version 1800
    Build: 3962
    Addins: 4772

There is a UX with a calculated field that is not calculated ok :(
We are using comma as decimal separator and a period for thousands.
    So onehousandonehundredandseventy looks like: 1.170,00
Note using the calculated value shows that it is not correct.
(Meaning trying to calculate a summary total gives a total that summs as if there are no decimals.
    146,45 + 154,55 is calculated as 14645+15455 =30100 )

I have made a short video to show the problem: www.computoria.nl/videoweb/bug/2016-11-30_Numeric_repeating_problem.swf

The attached component is based on mysql northwind.

(this problem makes it impossible to use a complicated ux where invoices are reconciled)

    Anybody any suggestions?

    Regards

    Pieter

Does anyone else have this problem or am I the only one?

You say this is an issue since the latest update. If you go back to the previous update, does the issue go away? If so, you should let Alpha Know through a bug report. Send them your UX as a sample.

You might also try creating a new, simple UX from scratch in the new version - see if it has the same issue.

        Hi Larry,

        1. Yes the issue goes away in the previous version
        2. I have send alpha a bug report but not gotten any response yet, including the example
        3. The UX I included is a very simple one based on northwind created from scratch and it has the same problem

More suggestions please as this version has a better respons than the previous one.
And we want to start using the control bar feature.

        Thank you for reading.

I am not certain but are you experiencing this issue because of Alpha's new handling of periods & decimals after build 3898 per the release notes:

Well, I see the same problem.
At first I thought it was just a matter of adding $u.comma = ', '; and $u.decimal = '.'; but I see you already added this in the onRenderComplete.
I'm sure Alpha will respond to your bugrep in short order .. appreciate if you let us know what they have to say.

Pieter, here is a slightly different approach that I used in one of my components, it works. See if it suits your needs.

                  Hi Stephen,

I had been trying out the custom number format. But had no luck with that too.
                  Thanks.

I have gotten a reply from alpha that it was a bug and it is fixed.
Also some javascript to add to my ux so that the problem is gone from my ux without having to install a patch.
If somebody wants I can provide that javascript.
