Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

Controlbar in embedded UX not showing in PhoneGap

Embedded UX gets loaded from simple PhoneGap app.

Embedded UX has a couple of Panel Cards and a Panel Navigator. The single Panel Navigator has a Panel Header containing a simple Controlbar.

Works great in Working Preview. I love the Controlbar component!

I load same embedded UX to PhoneGap app and the Controlbar IS NOT VISIBLE. I rebuilt the PhoneGap app ... no change.

The app has been in production for a year, I just wanted to rip out the buttons and use a Controlbar.

    PNL_SITE goes to NAV_TRANSACTION

I just built a quick test. Main UX (Parent), in PC1, with a ControlBar in the PanelNavigator. Embedded UX in PC2. Embedded UX has a ControlBar in the PanelNavigator. Both PanelNavigators are set to Programmatic. Both ControlBars show. I'm using Version Build 4105 - today's. What Build are you using?

Agreed... the ControlBar is stunning. Puts a real professional feel into an app.

I have the checkbox set to CHECK FOR UPDATES when I load ... and it did not check and hasn't for some time, apparently.

I'm down one level ... AS OF TODAY!

Life in Alpha Land. Always fun! Always exciting!

Nope. Updated to 4105. Rebuilt all involved, including PhoneGap build of my shell.

Tried it with Pre-Render on and off. Tried it with Fill Container on and off. All 4 combos.

Shows in Working Preview but not on tablet.

I'll revisit somewhere down the line, I have to get this version out by Monday.

Back to doing my own buttons. Sigh.

I don't suppose you'd post a sample. Very, very tough to get samples.

I'll try. FIRST I have to get it working, then I'll see about doing the ControlBar way.

Each other way I see some testing challenges.

I'd prefer ControlBar but not if it costs me a $500 bonus if I get it rolled out by Monday.

I'm using an embedded UX inside another UX and my controlbars refuse to display on the mobile devices - did you ever find a solution Carl?

Re: Controlbar in embedded UX not showing in PhoneGap

I had a short fuse time frame, and I resorted to buttons. That is the same scenario I had, an embedded UX with a ControlBar inside a UX.

I wonder if that is the clue? Have a hidden ControlBar in the base UX so that PhoneGap gets the necessary code?

Getting test samples is really tough... but would help so much. I've built and tested under PGB... no issues. There are so many variables here... a sample and some PGB details would be nice.
