    Default Copy updated files to new database converting from windows to Os using Parallles

    Problem with app working correctly after converting from Windows 7 to OS. I am using ALPHA 5 VER. 10.5. App works great on windows but not on my Mac Pro. I am using Paralells. I have an older backup in Windows 7 that converts and works on OS but if I use it I have to go back and input data back from 6 months ago. I am thinking of copying all the files from the database thats updated to the datatbase that works. I do not know how to do this. I am scared of losing all my data. I am new to this Forum.

    App works great on windows
    Please define "works" for us. What doesn't happen in your latest version of the application (when used on the mac) that does in the backup (when used on the mac)?

    The wiki entry

    https://www.alphasoftware.com/docume...le%20Types.xml

    has a listing of the various file types Alpha employs. In short, the .dbf, .cdx, and .fpt files contain your data. The other files are essentially the definition of your database.

    Everything works great in win7 but when i convert to OS on my Mac I get this message:

    Script: OnChange line:11
    topparent:tables:piano.query()
    An unhandled exception was generated.

    It would help to know where you have that code line but I can't find that there is a .query() method available to the table object as you show it. I do find

    topparent:tables:piano.query_create(<parameters here>)

    as well as

    .Query_Detach()
    .Query_From_Range()
    .Query_Primary_Put()

    Try commenting out that line and see how the application behaves. It might be that Parallels is more particular about some things than Windows.
