Default Formatting of Numbers in a Free-Form Grid Row

    Hello everyone,

I have a grid and for several of the fields I am using the Freeform Template to allow for a multiple-row display of data for each record in the database.
Let's call these sub-rows, There are three sub-rows displayed for each record.

I have set the display format for the field to alltrim(str(convert_type(<value>,"N"),250,0,",")) this works for the first sub-row of data (see yellow highlighting in attached pictures)
This setting does not however seem to effect the 2nd and 3rd sub-rows. my numbers show up there but are not formatted. (I want commas as thousands separators)

Any ideas on how to format numerical values in the Freeform area of a grid row?

I have attached some screen shots to show what I'm doing and what I'm after

    Thanks very much

    Kevin

I believe this is formatted at the server and then sent along for display. So... have you applied the same Display Format to Unit_Count and Row_Quantity_3 ? I you do that, then the data will be formatted and sent along for your use in the Freeform layout.

Default Re: Formatting of Numbers in a Free-Form Grid Row: Issue Solved

    David,
    Thank you. Issue solved.
Your solution worked! simply edit or select a display format for the fields. (third row down highlighted in yellow in my graphic)
Even though the hide field box is checked, the formats are applied to the fields when used in the Free-form area

    sincerely
