Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

Does anyone know what's up with ATS? Have they folded?
Their website has been unreachable for a while now.

I don't know and not sure if i was charged for the moth but i have learned a lot from them. I have found some of the videos abit basic lately and considered dropping it but it really wasn't too much so i have kept it. I do like to refer to the xbasic videos from time to time for syntax, etc. when i am self learning. I have found it to be a ver good resource. Hope it isn't down long.

I had just renewed my subscription and emailed them about them about their website. They told me that they were updating the site and it would be available again "soon."

Most of the site is still down, seems like some bad planning going on over there - no offense as stuff happens but site upgrades/updates shouldn't take out working areas. I am sure they will get it sorted soon enough - good guys over there.

            Re: Alpha Technology Solutions

As of this writing, the main website doesnt seem to be accessible (website comes up blank). Their blog is still available (as referenced above), but none of the links to the Advisory Services or Training Materials or Videos work (resources dont exist). After some digging, I found out that Max Hammond resigned in April. Not entirely sure whats happening there, but I emailed Alpha about it earlier and they were surprised to hear about this. I have them digging into this, since we've purchased time and access to the video resources from ATS and no longer have access.

              Re: Alpha Technology Solutions

I just received an email from Mark Flanagan at ATS who informed me the website will be operational again tomorrow. Apparently updating their website that was supposed to take a day or two turned into a week. I have a couple of other issues to discuss with Mark, but this will certainly be on the list. Ive had a pretty good relationship with ATS up to now, but am pretty disappointed with what appears like a lack of communication to the customer base - which is surprising considering the number of emails I seem to get from them for marketing pieces.

In case anyone else is trying to reach ATS, Mark Flanagan is still reachable ([email protected]) and at 508-922-7605.

Not the same site... alphatechnologysolutions (Alpha related site) vs alphatechsolutions (not Alpha related)

                          Hokay. My mistake.
The Forum was down a couple of days ago as well, and I was getting a different layout. Maybe they are just fiddling.

Well, it sounds like they have seriously mismanaged their backups/database. It should not take this long to restore a working system or spin up a new server if an update is really the cause of all their downtime.
