    Default List Control and Video Player

    I have a list control that filters out based on a argument value that is set based on which user logs in. Within the filter list, I want when the user clicks on one of the items in the list to pull another panel card and play a video that is based on a ID that is associated with that item.

    In the List Control On Click event I have:

    {dialog.Object}.setValue('ID_VIDEO',this.value[0]);
    {dialog.object}.panelSetActive('VIDEOP',true);

    and then in VIDEOP control I have this.value[0] as the default value.

    It isnt playing the video, it acts like it is not setting the URL.

    I am not sure whether its not setting the url because the list is doing a filter first on an argument and then when the user clicks on one of the items in the filter list, it needs to filter on another ID that is associated with the item?

    Any ideas?

    It doesn't look like ID_VIDEO is actually a URL, is it?

    Perhaps you could put a text control on your UX then populate it using by adding something like this to your list click event:

    {dialog.Object}.setValueFrom('textbox','list::list1::ID_VIDEO');

    Then you could see what you are actully passing into the video player.

    I put this in the OnFocus Javascript event where ID_VIDEO was located. It showed nothing was passed in. Actually that made me realize that the video url is in another table than what the list control is filtering. Is the best way to do this is to call an XBasic function in the on click event in the list control to pull that url from another table?

    Steven,

    I was recently playing around with videos and list controls myself. The way I did it was using the onClick event in the list control which then runs an action javascript event "Video Player Control Actions".
    There you can set 'Method for specifying video id to play" as 'Read HTML5 url's from a list control'

    Take a look at my recent post here ... https://www.alphasoftware.com/alphaf...deoPlayer-Path
    There's a basic example attached to the last post in that thread.

    Actually, I have set up a textbox called ID to hold the value when the item is clicked in the list. I am trying to do a AJAX callback in the on click event of the list control to get the URL from the other table using an XBasic function. I am running into a problem though, I think all I need to do is an args.set to set based on the textbox ID value. How would I do that? Is the code args.set('currentid',ID); So that currentid holds the textbox ID value?
