    Default Args.set from Textbox Control Value

    What is the best way (code) to do a arg.set to get a value that is already in a textbox control so you can use it to do a sql_lookup?

    So that’s a question that needs more info to answer for sure. I think the first question would be how and where is the lookup or query being done? A button calling xbasic or a list control?

    Try this...

    Code:
    args.Set("myArgName",e._currentRowDataNew.myTextBoxControlName)

    Acutally, that didnt work. Maybe I am saying and thinking what I am trying to do wrongly. I have a list control that filters based on the user login. Then when the user clicks on one of the filtered list items, I want to pull the URL in a different database table filtering it on the PETID from the one the user click on in the list control and assign the URL to a Video Player control so a video can play. Below is the code I have in XBasic functions. In the list control on click event I have an AJAX callback to this function. What changes can I make to get the URL assigned to the Video Player? The PETID textbox shows the correct number based on the one the user clicks on in the list control.

    function petIdVideo as v (e as p)

    dim sql as c
    dim args as sql::arguments
    Dim cn as sql::connection

    cn.open("::name::petvv")
    args.set("currentpetid", e.dataSubmitted.PETID)

    newURL = sql_lookup("::name::petvv", "pvv_pet_videos", "PETID = :currentpetid","URL",args)
    e._state.URL = newURL

    end function
