convert multi-line if statement to single line expression

Is it possible to convert this to a single line expression. I don't know how to get the "end" to be recognized as a command and not a variable.

Not sure that GoTo is valid in Xbasic, but it worked in SOBS basic.

You could turn it into a UDF and run that instead.

Nope, that doesn't work. The end command in the called UDF just ends the called UDF not the parent UDF. Functions can be called in expressions but I don't see that command can be initialized. And goto is even more tricky.

Stan's expression does the job.
Based on what it's doing, there is really no need for the else, so I shortened it just a bit.

I was looking at this to pass a few minutes and found this statement in the Alpha wiki "Note: You cannot put an END FUNCTION statement inside an IF ... END IF block." see https://www.alphasoftware.com/docume...Xbasic_END.xml

Great, Stan! And thanks everyone.
I use a global director variable (vendYN) within all UDF's set to "yes" at the start and changed to "no" with action cancels and a multitude of other events so there is a return director to the calling UDF to key upon to continue forward or halt the sequence. I have been using the multi-line if statement, but really want a single line expression. Now I have one. Thank you.
