Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Repeating Section Not Working When switching to Alpha Style- Is This A Bug?

    Hi,

    Unable to add or remove rows using the add/removes icons in a repeating section when using the Alpha Style with no tweeks in UX properties. When switching to iOS7 style, they do work.

    Please try this to confirm that it is an actual bug.

    Thanks

    You don't say what version you're working with, but maybe you've run into an SVG event bug... as described here... check the bugs section at the bottom.

    http://aadocuments.s3.amazonaws.com/...easeNotes.Html

    The Alpha style uses svg icons... and there have been issues with svg icons and their onClick events.

    However, it looks like this is still a bug. Using the latest pre-release, the add/remove icons for a Repeating Section do not work.

    You should report this as a bug.

    You can do an end run around this Alpha bug by turning off the Repeating Section checkboxes for "Has 'Add Row' button" etc. and then adding your own buttons.

    The code that is called, by default, is...

    Code:
    {dialog.object}.addRepeatingSectionRow('REPEATINGSECTION_1');

    and

    {dialog.object}.deleteRepeatingSectionRow('REPEATINGSECTION_1');
    Change the Repeating Section name for your own.
    The online Alpha doc for deleteRepeatingSectionRow is of no use, but the inline doc looks up to date... e.g.

    {dialog.Object}.deleteRepeatingSectionRow('REPEATINGSECTION_1', -1, true);

    Will delete the current row without a confirmation prompt.

    And, oddly enough, you can use SVG Icons for the buttons.

      Hi David,

      I'm currently running the latest build when that bug occured. Thanks for confirming that it is ... I played around with it for some time, unchecked those add and remove checkboxes on the repeating section and added new buttons instead...

      Thanks for your quick reply.

      With much respect,

      Maroine

        thanks. this is a bug with the alpha style and svg icons. it has already been corrected in the current pre-release build which you can download by going to help/view pre-release notes.

            I have the latest patch and this is still not working. Build 4845, Addins: 5035

            Easy to test.

            1. Create new UX with Customer-MultiAddress
            2. The Style is set to GrGray.
            -- Working Preview -- you can add and delete rows.
            3. Change Style to Alpha
            -- Working Preview -- buttons do nothing.

            David's, work around -- works great.

            Michael

              I can't say why it is not working for you, but as you can see in the video, it is working

              if you want to send me your test case we can investigate

                Build 4845 was out January 19... so you're not using the current pre-release build... which includes the fix for this bug.
