Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

Is there something like this www.alpha-bootstrap.com for sale?

Is there a new homepage for this product? May I kindly request for a link for a similar product like www.alpha-bootstrap.com for sale?
I wish alpha can build something like this, or styling of the Tabbedui etc and include this on their future updates
    Thanks!

I think as a community we need to build something for ourselves. Common project for everyone to use and contribute too is only going to benefit all. I think its too much work if it comes down to a few people and this is when one needs to charge money for it.

Simple: Post your style with a few sample images of what it looks like. While being able to import a boot-strap theme would be nice and a pretty good time saver we can already share styles and importing them shoudl work just super.

Michael Cornford has done some really nice looking layouts. I think Alpha should buy one of his templates and provide it to customers who have an annual contract. The styles that come out of of the box for web applications are really dated.

Take a look at this example of a tabbed UI. Expand the System menu and try each child node.

We should setup a public repo on github for the community to pull and push themes to their projects. Would anyone use it don't know? (I would contribute).

Re: Is there something like this www.alpha-bootstrap.com for sale?

We are trying to build a framework, there are a number of complications.

I personally believe Bootstrap is the wrong way to go with Alpha.
The power of Alpha is often negated by Bootstrap.
Alpha works with containers, while containers are Div's with a little extra, they allow controls to be simply laid out.
In Bootstrap you need to use Div's then position Alpha controls this way causes a trade-off.
I think it would be hard to take a bootstrap CSS stylesheet and not have conflicts with class names trying to find these conflicts is a major task.
The last reason is probably the most relevant, the world has moved on from 12 column grids. CSSGrid allows any number of columns you need and the syntax is simple.
So if you wanted a 5 column display followed by a 7 column display it would be challenging in Bootstrap. Using CSSGrid and flexbox it is just a few lines of CSS.

We intend to sell our framework (So far we have invested more than 1,000hrs) so we would not load it into a free repository. However, in principle, we would be happy to explain how we had achieved certain things.

Here is an example of CSSGrid plain Html

Great stuff Micheal, It is no doubt flex box is the way to go. Bootstrap 4 uses a optin flexbox approach and is going to use Sass rather then Less

Yes, Bootstrap is something we use a lot but in the end, Alpha does not play nicely.

Flexbox is great for a row but CSSGrid is awesome for laying out complex areas. Flexbox and CSSGrid are designed to work together.

Michael Cornford passed away in 2018. He was a pioneer of CSS styling with Alpha. I haven't heard if anyone picked up where he left off. I attached an image of what he did for my application. You can't look at it and tell that it's done with Alpha Anywhere.

It’s difficult to believe this is not a priority for AA, the lesson Apple’s shown everyone is detail to presentation matters to customers and developers.

I have a template available via https://iadn.com/store.a5w that enhances the alpha styling. Not sure if that is what you might be looking for ?

Do you have the full CSS for this, did you amend the tabbedUI?

I am not using the tabbedUI. This is two grid controls linked together by code. The grid on the right has a horizontal scrollbar and the grid on the left acts like a frozen pane. I have all of the source code and CSS to this.
