Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Hi Sajid,
    I worked with arabic language.
is your issue writing arabic in alpha?
I dont think there is a way to automatically translate it.
the best way is to save a copy of the report and write the labels and titles in Arabic.
if you need to have the customer name and items description in arabic it has to be written in the application and stored in the database

Re: Arabic or any other language in Alpha Reports

I worked on Arabic invoices for Saudi about 40 years ago.
The problem was not translation, but transliteration.
Working on a job at present with a PDF formatted print, populated with JSON data.
It's not my design, but I will ask the guy who does JSON.
As Paul suggested, a pic of the name/signatures will work.
I have used Chinese Chops in documents before now, so it's doable.

You have to change some setting in control panel?
            in windows 10:
            1-control panel
            2-regional settings
            3-click the tab administrative
4-Change the language for non unicode to arabic.
            2018-02-18_0856.png
            it should work.

I will look into this more and see which optons work with Alpha.
If Paul's suggestion doesn't work, you may need to use a different type of placeholder for the data.
              RichText is quite useful.

                Sajil, another question.
Does the app use Arabic fonts everywhere or are there some European fonts in it as well?

Re: Arabic or any other language in Alpha Reports

it will be mix.Arabic is using for customer name and address and for item description in the report along with English data. This is basically an Invoice which we are trying to change into arabic not fully.Customer name and address to arabic and the item description also.the rest every thing remains the same.We have given an option in Sql to capture arabic name and address and the item description and we created a view to pick the arabic updated data from sql but when we use that in report it is coming as ???????? instead of arabic.
We just want to display the arabic data in the report ,nothing else.

Re: Arabic or any other language in Alpha Reports

I have 4-5 applications working with arabic language application&reports there is no issue.
while designing report u can write arabic language and the data coming from database in arabic you just need to collect in arabic supported fonts format.

and while generating report you should enable option of multilanguage in pdf options.

Re: Arabic or any other language in Alpha Reports

I don't think that using just one language font is the issue. The problem is using two different language fonts in the same application.
"Arabic is using for customer name and address and for item description in the report along with English data"
In my example, it's a method for getting a compromise.
Unfortunately, Windows does not seem to offer multiple language on the same page, at least I couldn't find any references to it.
