Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Authorize.net and TLS 1.2 - Not working

    Hey Everyone,

    I use the Alpha Authorizenet function to process payments. Today it stopped working and I am guessing below is the reason:

    https://support.authorize.net/authkb...alse&actp=LIST

    My WAS are running on windows 2012 servers so be default TLS 1.2 should be enabled?

    Has anyone else run into this?

    Thanks,

    Scott

    Re: Authorize.net and TLS 1.2 - Not working

    AuthorizeNet_Transaction.Process() relies on XmlHTTP, a Microsoft control. As such, it is at the mercy of what your operating system supports for encryption. Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008 R2, and Windows 7 SP1 do not support TLS 1.2 "out of the box" but an update is available from Microsoft to address this.

    Please see the following Microsoft support article for details on enabling TLS 1.2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3140245

        Thanks the patch works - also make sure to update the registry as described in the patch.

        Thanks again,

          I did the patch and the registry update but it is still not working for me
          I am using the "http_fetch"

          p.host = "api.authorize.net"
          p.page = "/xml/v1/request.api"
          p.SSL_ON = .T.
          p.method = "POST"
          p.body = request

          Thanks Willy

            Hi Willy,

            I believe but not 100 percent sure that this was one of the methods shut down by authorize.net. I think you need to use the built in Alpha function, which in turn uses the latest version of TLS available on the windows server. Here is my code below.

            'Ok thats it. We now have everything we need. Lets call the transactions!
            dim x as AuthorizeNet_transaction
            x.login = api_login_id
            x.tran_key = transaction_key
            x.amount = remaining_balance
            x.card_num = value_1
            x.exp_date = value_2
            x.type = "AUTH_CAPTURE"
            x.mode = "Live"
            x.first_name = first_name
            x.last_name = last_name
            x.address = address
            x.city = city
            x.state = state
            x.zip = zip
            x.invoice_num = invoice_num
            ' x.car_code = convert_type( CurrentForm.Controls.ccv,"C")
            dim result_msg as C
            result_msg = ""

            'code to process payment
            if x.process()then
            dim y as P
            y = x.result
            result_msg = y.Response_Reason_Text
            if (y.response_code = "1") ' Authorize.Net defines response code 1 as "Approved"
            session.transStatus = 1
            elseif (y.response_code = "2") 'Authorize.Net defines response code 2 as "Declined"
            session.transStatus = 2
            elseif (y.response_code = "3") 'Authorize.Net defines response code 3 as "Error"
            session.transStatus = 3
            end if
            else
            session.transStatus = 0
            end if

            delete x ' remove AuthorizeNet object

            Its super easy to use, just use my code and set the parameters to your variables and you should be good to go.

              Re: Authorize.net and TLS 1.2 - Not working

              http_fetch() uses a different client library. It supports TLS 1.2, but also supports some additional ciphers that Authorize.Net does not like. You can either update to a recent pre-release, which uses a newer cipher list, our you can explicitly specify the cipher list in your call to http_fetch(). The cipher list returned by httpd_defaultcipherlist() works well with Authorize.Net's servers.

                Hi Lenny

                I added this to the call used httpd_defaultcipherlist() to get cipher list:
                p.SSLCipherList = "EECDH+ECDSA+AESGCM:EECDH+aRSA+AESGCM:EECDH+ECDSA+SHA384:EECDH+ECDSA+SHA256:EECDH+aRSA+SHA384:
                EECDH+aRSA+SHA256:EECDH:EDH+aRSA:!RC4:!aNULL:!eNULL:!LOW:!3DES:!MD5:!EXP:!PSK:!SRP:!DSS"

                I'm not sure if the syntax is correct not much info on this
                It is still not working
                AuthorizeNet_Transaction.Process() works
                How could I update to a recent pre-release

                Thanks Willy

                  Hi Lenny

                  disregard the last post. I figured it out. My syntax was wrong I'm not doing this often

                  This works:
                  p.host = "api.authorize.net"
                  p.page = "/xml/v1/request.api"
                  p.SSL_ON = .T.
                  p.method = "POST"
                  p.body = request
                  result = http_fetch(p,.F.,"EECDH+ECDSA+AESGCM:EECDH+aRSA+AESGCM:EECDH+ECDSA+SHA384:EECDH+ECDSA+SHA256:EECDH+aRSA
                  +SHA384:EECDH+aRSA+SHA256:EECDH:EDH+aRSA:!RC4:!aNULL:!eNULL:!LOW:!3DES:!MD5:!EXP:!PSK:!SRP:!DSS")

                  Thanks for all the help I'm a Alpha user since 1991
