I want to have a signature capture on a web browser application, not a mobile app.
I was thinking about getting a signature capture device like the Topaz, which I see someone made a script a few years ago for that. But... I have a bunch of iPads so I was thinking of how to implement those. Here's my scenario.
I have a complete Point of Sale application on a browser that does everything except the signature.
Here's what I'm thinking for a scenario.
Cashier gets to the receipt part of the sale on the desktop computer. By now, the sale is saved to the database and generates the receipt.
When the receipt is generated, a flag is put in the database that 'SignatureNeeded'.
The iPad has a mobile version of the POS, but just the signature part. Customer taps the button "Sign" which refreshes the panel, gets the register number, gets the 'SignatureNeeded' flag, then presents the Signature Capture component.
Customer signs, clicks Accept and Save, the signature then saves to the sale record in the database.
iPad refreshes ready for the next customer.
Cashier then clicks a button which displays the signature just entered for verification.
Cashier completes the sale.
I would think that this is possible with a late night of messing around. Anyone have a different scenario that you can think of?
