An odd situation has arisen which I haven't come across before - with seemingly only one form open, and no visible activity at the desktop - the error suggests that the record is open for editing in another form.
Just looking for ideas as to what it might be.
Situation;
1 user, 1 table, 1 form
Multiple tick and radio button boxes, lots of updatable fields.
App runs on a network server
User opens a record and it may be some time before the changes are made (an hour or so? ) and the record actually saved
User is adamant that a second instance of the form has not been opened
Suspicions
As several people have mentioned, this is usually associated with two forms or the record being open to edit the record at the same time.
In addition, entering a tick in a logical field also sets the record to being locked unless it is actively saved, so that is being covered by the logic introduced as shown below.
What has been tried
A forum member has set the tick boxes and radio buttons to save the record OnChange of state
I have proven that two forms can be open at the same time and access the same record PROVIDED that neither is open for edit.
So far so good, so now the question;
I have a suspicion that the form on the DT is actually being refreshed and creates a different form instance, thereby presenting 1 form when 2 are open although one is not visible. Is this possible?
