Can I create and use my own a.email.dbf file in A5V10.5?

I want to include it as part of my CMS application with my field names, etc, and be able to assign individual email messages to a specific and unique customer ID?

The thought is I can create the table, have it be part of my application directory (versus a user folder).

Or, is it just as easy to receive email messages and subsequently create and store them in a unique customer A5 Built-in Mail Client Folder

Under View, Settings, Email, Receiving you can name the dbf where email is stored (Mailbox:). You can name it anything you want but if you use your own table I imagine it would need to be a duplicate of a_email.dbf.

I'm not sure what "assign individual email messages to a specific and unique customer ID" might mean. All email for the current email profile is stored in the same dbf.

When an email is received or sent I want to assign to a specific customer. The set is based on a contact_id, which is how the table would be related to the primary table of a set. I have to keep a record of communications with each customer.

Parsing the email is a fairly long and arduous procedure, but does very well. It can be done. This is not for the faint of heart. I doubt you will get full instructions on the forum. Yes, the client connection will work. We collect orders on a website that auto-emails to us and those emails are used to create new orders for existing clients. Can also create new clients.

The way I set my licensing process up is by email.
The client uses an email launch on their application, and the details I need to capture are encrypted and sent to my email address.
Alpha picks the data up and replies with a key to unlock the rest of the app.
So if you use Alpha to send and receive, it's easy, else you need a very specific email address on your side to get the client email.
Not a generic me@somewhere.com, more a myalphamail@somewhere.com

I have a designated, specific email setup for just this program. It goes with the domain of my business for which the application is being designed. At this time I am not sending and receiving in its entirety as I have some parts of the application I am rushing to compeltion but alas, knowledge (or lack of) and lack of time tend to slow me down.
