Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    astrum installer(free) tools

I have all the installs for astrum installer. Astrum kind of closed down a couple years ago, but gave the registered users free usageand then made it a freeware program. I have the installer and all documentation arguably necessary to use it.
If interested, send a message to me. In most cases, all of it can be sent by email attachment.
I have not, but will zip all I have together that will include install and docs.

Even though win 10 was not out when astrum closed due to retirement, win10 is done just like win7. Nothing to change.

If I get tons of response, I will place the zip on the web and create a download URL.

It is still the cloosest thing to WISE installer(used by alpha) I have found without the expense.

Hi Dave, thanks for the offer. I sent you an email a couple days ago to: [email protected]. No rush, I thought maybe it went to spam or you're just busy, after all it is summer.

No Dave haven't received anything, where did you send it? Perhaps a Google Drive folder or DropBox, and then just send the link to whoever wanted it.

Sent email to [email protected] nd it included attachments.

I am going to package the files and serve them up from one of my websites. That works best of all.

          download at http://aldaweb.com/astrum/astrumpackage.zip

In case anybody is worried about problems: Astrum is no longer a company and was closed. All has been in Freeware for over a year.

If I had limited success with it, I would not offer it. I have had great success with it and hope all of you do to.

                Hi Dave,

I just tried downloading but Chrome is blocking it. This is the explanation:

Your file download may have been blocked for one of two reasons:

We think it might be a malicious, unwanted, or uncommon file.
                Malicious: You tried downloading malware.
Unwanted: You tried downloading a deceptive piece of software. This program, disguised as a helpful download, may actually make unexpected changes to your computer.
Uncommon: You tried downloading an unfamiliar and potentially dangerous piece of software.
We've found that the website you tried to download the file from has been known to distribute malware.

Firefox is ok and McAfee scan found nothing untoward.

                Thanks

                Bob

                  Re: astrum installer(free) tools

There are no malware or viruses included. There are several files included into one zip.
I never use Chrome for anything except one Joomla addon to modify it since the creator only uses chrome. I only test in windows edge.
There are several places one can download the freebie, but they mostly include malware and do not include the extras I include in the zip.

                    Hello Dave,

I didn't mean to imply there there was any malware, as I said, Firefox allowed me to download it with no problems. I thought that anyone else trying to download the files using Chrome may like to know that other browsers work fine. Thanks again.

Good Luck with it. I had talked to the designer about the time he retired and he is the one gave me the extras.

I have double checked that and it is nowhere on my local or internet systems. Try again? What tool were you using?

I found I had included inno installer in the package by accident. It must have been the issue. Once removed, Chrome seemed more happy.
