Hi All,
Just wanted to post this to report an issue and a work-a-round for it that I have recently come across when using Summary and Post operations when using Alpha's built-in zip database(workspace) to send a project to a client.
For some unknown reason on my client's computer, Alpha is using the absolute file name in its Summary and Post operations. I have NEVER checked the zip file checkbox to Use Absolute Path. And yet, on my client's computer, all summary and post operations(converted to xbasic) have my computer's path to the resulting tables.
I first took out: summarize_db_name = filename_decode("payroll_401k_summ.DBF") but did not cure it.
I tried other various fixes as well, even just sending the tables by copying them directly via Window's Explorer and my computer, sending them to the client and then pasting them into the client's project folder.
'==============================================================================================
The only fix that worked was to change the path using the following in each operation--changing table names as appropriate:
Used to be in the Summary operations:
summarize_db_name = filename_decode("payroll_401k_summ.DBF")
'-----------------------------------------------------
I changed it to:
summarize_db_name = "payroll_401k_summ" and also tried "payroll_401k_summ.DBF"
Did not help
'-----------------------------------------------------
I then Changed it to:
dim pth as C
pth=a5.Get_Path()+chr(92)+"payroll_401k_summ.DBF"
summarize_db_name = pth
Which was the winner.
I had to do this for each and every Summary operation and also for each Post operation that subsequently used the created summary tables.
'=================================================================
I could not find anything regarding this issue on the message board so thought to add it. I have never had this issue with any client computer before and do not know if it is due to the zip database part or the Summary/Post operations.
