Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Printing on pre-printed forms

I have various pre-printed forms that have been working great for years. All of a sudden, in the past few weeks, they is not printing correctly, i.e., it looks like scaling is turned on but it is not. I have turned scaling off and all margins are 0px.

Why would this happen all of a sudden? Is there a change to the amunyi printer driver?

Or does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can look or what I should try?

      Happy New Year Gary,

If possible, what was changed in your system from reports printing correctly to reports printing wrong. Windows update? Alpha update?

Undo any changes made prior to the reports not working properly.

Does this only affect your pre-printed forms? What about normal reports. Are you printing from a browser? We've had issues where a setting
would get changed in the browser shrinking the printed page. Not at work so I can't tell you the setting right now.

You could try going to a restore point, if you have one, back when everything was working OK.

        David and Ron,

I have not changed alpha build - using build 5028/5088.

No windows updates, but yes firefox was updated do you think that is the issue?

And Happy New Year to you too!!

Is Firefox the only browser you've been using? Does using Chrome exhibit the same behaviour?

We have experienced printing issues with firefox.

We would have to change the Scale: shrink to fit.

Yours may have changed to something else.
Upper right hand corner click on the menu, print, scale. You will see quite a number of choices.

              Re: Printing on pre-printed forns

              Hi guys,

              David: Even worse in chrome

Ron: Scaling did not solve the problem

But, what did fix the issue was uninstalling adobe acrobat reader and re-installing it. Now everything is printing where it should line-wise, but is shifted approximately 5 spaces to the left - I need it shifted to the right by 5 spaces. Is there an easy way to do that? Perhaps a setting in Adobe?

Any alignment issues I've had printing PDF can be solved by ensuring that "Actual Size" is selected in the Printer Dialog Box. Somethings it gets toggled to "Fit" and that messes with your layout and alignment on the printed output.

If you have everything working except the spacing, then you could just use CSS to modify output accordingly.
