Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    A duplicate button should be fairly simple, even easier for me if you're happy using xbasic instead of javascript.
    If you use MySQL, I know we can let MySQL do the time math.

        Also, I'm using e.dataSubmittedJSON_NoDeletedRows now, which solves the deleted rows problem.

        Which SQL back end are you using? My testing is with MySQL. Also, what build of Alpha are you using? Try this UX.

        Thanks again David. It works great, but it only works for one entry. If I attempt to enter more rows, I get an error. The error, from my reading, is because of Access-- it doesn't allow multiple row entry in one statement. So, if I want to continue with Access, I must do a sql for each row.

        Wow. there are so many ways that I can screw up... ha, ha.

          I'm not surprised Access doesn't handle multiple rows. I've worked with Access heavily since version 1, but when they release the 2010 runtime with a bug that killed data I dropped it. You should detail your Alpha version and choice of database along with your question... always helps.

          You can just move a few statements inside the repeating section loop and insert one row at a time...

          Code:
          for i = 1 to prData.REPEATINGSECTION_1.size()
          	iv = iv + "(" + prData.REPEATINGSECTION_1[i].EmpID + ","
          	iv = iv + "'" + prData.REPEATINGSECTION_1[i].CalendarName + "',"
          	iv = iv + prData.REPEATINGSECTION_1[i].EstimateID + ","
          	iv = iv + "'" + prData.REPEATINGSECTION_1[i].Description + "',"
          	iv = iv + "'" + prData.REPEATINGSECTION_1[i].Details + "',"
          	time1 = ctodt(prData.REPEATINGSECTION_1[i].StartTime)
          	time2 = time("yyyy-MM-dd 0h:0m:0s",time1)
          	iv = iv + "'" + time2 + "',"
          	time1 = ctodt(prData.REPEATINGSECTION_1[i].EndTime)
          	time2 = time("yyyy-MM-dd 0h:0m:0s",time1)
          	iv = iv + "'" + time2 + "',"
          	iv = iv + prData.REPEATINGSECTION_1[i].Lunch + ","
          	iv = iv + prData.REPEATINGSECTION_1[i].Hours + ","
          	date1 = ctod(prData.REPEATINGSECTION_1[i].PayPeriod)
          	date2 = date_format(date1,"yyyy-MM-dd")
          	iv = iv + "'" + date2 + "')"
          	sqlStmt = "INSERT INTO LaborHours (EmpID, CalendarName, EstimateID, Description, Details, StartTime, EndTime, Lunch, Hours, PayPeriod) VALUES "
          	sqlStmt = sqlStmt + iv
          	flag = cn.execute(sqlStmt)
          next i
          I would perform data verification on the client side. There are repeating section methods that let you get a repeating section data. Might as well check it on the client-side rather than sending bad or empty data to the server... only to return with an error.

          You'll also need to add lots of error checking in the XBasic code.

              Re: Can I make a type of Repeating Section for the top-level table of a UX Component?

              Lee, in your first video how did you fit the increment and decrement icons all into the same list column?
              Or is that just an illusion and they are separate dynamic images?

              I managed to set the properties such that they somewhat look like they belong to the column.

              *EDIT - Never mind on this, I figured it out. You can just put a placeholder in the list layout template.

                Also, what javascript are you using to effect the increment/decrement?
                I have this in the onclick events but it is not working:

                Increment
                Code:
                /Get part quantity and increment.
                var listObj = {dialog.object}.getControl('PartsList');
                var vAmt = {dialog.Object}.getValue('list::PartsList::PARTQUANTITY');
                vAmt++;
                listObj.setValue('list::PartsList::PARTQUANTITY',vAmt);
                Decrement
                Code:
                //Get part quantity. If greater than zero, then decrement quantity otherwise do nothing.
                var listObj = {dialog.object}.getControl('PartsList');
                var vAmt = {dialog.Object}.getValue('list::PartsList::PARTQUANTITY');
                if (vAmt > 0 ) {
                vAmt--;
                }
                listObj.setValue('list::PartsList::PARTQUANTITY',vAmt);

                  Stephen,
                  Here is the code that I use: Increment.JPG

                  This is the list layout.
                  <table width="750" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
                  <tr>
                  <td width="110">{DateBeg}</td>
                  <td width="25">{Exempt:number('00')}</td>
                  <td width="50"><span a5-item="Minus"> <img src="cssIcon=fa fa-minus-square {font-size: 9px; color: #8d0707;}" />&nbsp; <span a5-item="Plus"> <img src="cssIcon=fa fa-plus-square {font-size: 9px; color: #0c9e33;}" /> </span></td>
                  <td width="100">{FirstName}</td>
                  <td width="100">{LastName}</td>
                  <td width="100">{SSNum}</td>
                  <td width="110">{Phone}</td>
                  <td width="100">{Street}</td>
                  <td style="width:100px;text-align:right"><span a5-item="LineEdit"> <img src="cssIcon=fa fa-pencil {color: #983007;}" /> </span></td>
                  </tr>

                    I also put this in the Fixed header HTML:

                    <table width="750" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
                    <tr>
                    <td width="110">Date</td>
                    <td width="25">Number</td>
                    <td width="25">&nbsp;</td>
                    <td width="100">First</td>
                    <td width="100">Last</td>
                    <td width="100">SSNum</td>
                    <td width="100">Phone</td>
                    <td width="100">Street</td>
                    <td style="width:100px;text-align:right"><span <img src="cssIcon=fa fa-pencil {color: #983007;}" /> </span></td>

                    </tr>
