    Default Simultaneous Register + Login

    The situation:
We're currently trying to reduce friction by logging in a user right after they register. We're using a UX component to submit the form. This is currently what happens:

    1. User registers on our website
    2. User is redirected to login page
    3. User enters email/password to login
    4. User is taken to account page

We want to reduce steps so that
    1. User registers on our website AND is logged into our website
    2. User is taken to account page

How do we do this in Alpha? Ideally we would like to submit the registration to the database and also log the user in the same POST event.

    Possible Solutions
Is there a way to tell Alpha to log the current user as a specific user ID?
Is there a way to set the login cookies/token through custom code?
If none of that works, can we just post the parameters (email/pass) directly to a login form?

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

you can log someone in programatically see:

so in your register component you would call this function and then redirect to where you want the user to go to next.

Although you can do this with A5WS_Login_User() you should have some way of validating the user is who they say they are. Typically this is done by sending them an email or a text forcing them to validate through that medium. If you let them login right after they register without any validation you will certainly get spam registrations. Or for instance I could register as Joe @ ibm.com which is a misrepresentation of who I am.
