Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

tabbed UI not displaying home page

I have a tabbed ui setup to display an a5w page after the user logs in. (The login portion is part of the tabbed ui component.)

But even after the user is logged in, it continues to show the username and password in the middle of the tabbed UI.

The tabs are all there and everything loads, but instead of replacing the U and P option with the home page, it just stays there.

If I refresh the screen, then it loads the page correctly.

Any else experiencing this or have a fix?

    Hi Larry

Do you have this in the head section under properties

    <META HTTP-EQUIV="Cache-Control" CONTENT="no-cache" />
    <META http-equiv="expires" content="0" />

I do now, but it doesn't seems to have made any difference.

Here are the before and after shots.

As a further note on this: I also placed the a5w page that would be the home page as a tabbed in the tabbed UI that should open on start. It does not open like it's supposed to. It does open after a refresh.

I watched in the developer console and there are no JavaScript errors showing up.

Hmmm, do you have security switched on and if so is the .a5w page allowed?

Yes, security is on and Yes, the page is allowed. It is, in fact set to always allowed.

If it was not allowed, refreshing the screen would not show it.

I guess I should mention that under a previous release this worked fine - but I can't confirm whether any recent updates caused the issue. I am on version 12.4.5.4.7 build 5467. (Release 11/17/18)

I am going to upgrade to the latest version this weekend. I'll write back then to let you know if that fixes the issue unless someone else has an idea to try.

If upgrading does not fix the issue, I'll send a note to Alpha.

Re: tabbed UI not displaying home page

There is a client side even afterLogin which can test to see if a successful login has happened. Wonder if that could be used to force a refresh of the home tab contents? I have not tried this as my logins happen before reaching the tabbedui.

Re: tabbed UI not displaying home page

On other applications, my logins also happen before the tabbedui. But I inherited this one and that is how it was originally setup.

I use the home screen and opening tabs on the other apps and they work fine. So it may be a combination of home screen and login at the same time.

I tried putting some code into the afterlogin event, but then it simply refreshed continuously and wouldn't stop. (Though I may have done it wrong.)

The only other thing I can think to try is to see what the Login Action in properties has been set to?

Re: tabbed UI not displaying home page

                    It was setup to AjaxCallback.

I changed it to full reload and now it is working again.

Not sure if that is a setting that I accidentally changed somewhere along the line or what. There is a bunch of code in the onlogin event, but it looks like that fires anyway.

                    THANK YOU!!!!
