    Default suddenly read-only data directories

I've run into a problem with a desktop app.

After my last update to the programming, all of the data directories have been set to "Read Only."

All of my attempts to unset the attribute have failed. Has anyone run into this issue before??

    Possible solutions??

You mean, Did you send an update to client/your own app or did you install a newer version of alpha?

Steve, I'm going to assume you mean that you installed a recent patch from Alpha software.
I have had such bad luck with recent Alpha patches that I had to roll back to build 4269.
I sent in five bug reports and after that I gave up.

See if Windows update has caused the read only flag to be set.
I have issues with a server where files are suddenly Read Only after a Win update.

From a Google search, the culprit may be Windows Defender. Check Settings, where you can turn Folder Protection to off.

Although I am running an old version of V12, I periodically have problems with Windows updates with Windows 10. The fix is usually just reinstall the last patch.
