Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Getting signatures with the API

    Does anyone know how to get an image for a signature field when using the Transform API?

    Normal images return the URL for download but signature fields return viewbox data like the example below and I cannot see how to get signature image (for info I am not using AlphaAnywhere to retrieve the data which I guess could display this view box data)

    "field13": "<svg viewBox="0 0 250 100" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" xmlns:xlink= "http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" style="width: 250px; height: 100px; "><image xlink:href="" preserveAspectRatio="xMinYMin meet" x="0" y="0" width="250px" height="100px"/><rect x="10" y="5" width="230" height="80" style="stroke: none; fill: rgba(0,0,0,0);" /><path d="M 10 85 L 240 85" style="stroke: #000; stroke-width: 1; stroke-linecap: butt;" /><text x="10" y="95" style="fill: #000; stroke: none; font: 9px Arial">2019-04-06 10:42:31</text><g style="fill:none; stroke-linejoin: round; stroke-linecap: round;"><g style="stroke:#000000; stroke-width:1;"></g><g style="stroke:#00d; stroke-width:1.6; stroke-linecap: round"><path d="M 67.2 44 Q 67.2 44 64.2 45.7 Q 61.2 47.400000000000006 59.5 49.10000000000001 Q 57.800000000000004 50.800000000000004 56.2 52.900000000000006 Q 54.6 55 53.400000000000006 57.2 Q 52.2 59.400000000000006 51.800000000000004 61.60000000000001 Q 51.400000000000006 63.800000000000004 51.60000000000001 65.4 L 54 68.8 Q 54 68.8 57.1 69.5 Q 60.2 70.2 64.30000000000001 69.6 Q 68.4 69 72.5 67.80000000000001 Q 76.60000000000001 66.60000000000001 79.9 65.30000000000001 Q 83.2 64 85.5 63.1 L 90.2 61.2 L 90.2 61.2" /><path d="M 102 59.800000000000004 Q 102 59.800000000000004 101.4 62.900000000000006 Q 100.80000000000001 66 100.20000000000002 69.9 Q 99.60000000000001 73.8 99.5 75.7 L 99.80000000000001 79.60000000000001 Q 99.80000000000001 79.60000000000001 103.80000000000001 76 Q 107.80000000000001 72.4 110.5 68.30000000000001 Q 113.2 64.2 115.2 60.7 Q 117.2 57.2 118.5 54.800000000000004 L 121.2 50.2 Q 121.2 50.2 121.1 53.5 Q 121 56.800000000000004 120.80000000000001 59.2 Q 120.60000000000001 61.6 120.70000000000002 63.900000000000006 L 121.80000000000001 68.60000000000001 Q 121.80000000000001 68.60000000000001 126.2 67.10000000000001 Q 130.6 65.60000000000001 133.1 62.900000000000006 Q 135.6 60.2 137.9 57.5 Q 140.20000000000002 54.800000000000004 143 51.7 Q 145.8 48.6 147.4 46.8 L 151.20000000000002 43.2 Q 151.20000000000002 43.2 152.3 46.900000000000006 Q 153.4 50.6 153.3 54.2 Q 153.20000000000002 57.800000000000004 152.9 60.7 Q 152.6 63.6 152.5 65.3 L 152.4 67" /><path d="M 164.60000000000002 12.600000000000001 L 164.20000000000002 14.200000000000001 Q 164.20000000000002 14.200000000000001 163.5 19.700000000000003 Q 162.8 25.200000000000003 161.8 32.800000000000004 Q 160.8 40.400000000000006 159.9 48.7 Q 159 57 158.7 64 Q 158.4 71 158.4 76.2 Q 158.4 81.4 158.8 84.5 L 160 90.4 Q 160 90.4 161.3 86.60000000000001 Q 162.60000000000002 82.80000000000001 162.8 78.70000000000002 L 163.20000000000002 73 L 163.20000000000002 73" /><path d="M 156 56 Q 156 56 158.5 56.2 Q 161 56.400000000000006 164 56.10000000000001 Q 167 55.800000000000004 170.3 55.5 Q 173.60000000000002 55.2 176.70000000000002 54.800000000000004 Q 179.8 54.400000000000006 182.3 53.7 Q 184.8 53 186.70000000000002 52.3 L 188.60000000000002 51.6" /><path d="M 198 54 Q 198 54 195.3 55.3 Q 192.60000000000002 56.6 189.8 58.900000000000006 Q 187 61.2 184.8 63.900000000000006 Q 182.60000000000002 66.60000000000001 181 69 L 178.20000000000002 74.2 Q 178.20000000000002 74.2 181.20000000000002 71.6 Q 184.20000000000002 69 187.20000000000002 65.7 Q 190.20000000000002 62.400000000000006 192.5 59.900000000000006 Q 194.8 57.400000000000006 196.20000000000002 55.900000000000006 L 199.8 52.6 L 201.60000000000002 54.6 L 202.20000000000002 56 Q 202.20000000000002 56 204 55.900000000000006 L 207.20000000000002 55 Q 207.20000000000002 55 208.90000000000003 54.1 Q 210.60000000000002 53.2 212.10000000000002 54 Q 213.60000000000002 54.800000000000004 215.5 55.900000000000006 L 219.4 57.6 L 221.60000000000002 58 L 224 58.2 L 226.20000000000002 58.400000000000006 L 227.8 58.400000000000006 L 227.8 58.400000000000006" /></g></g></svg>",

    Re: Getting signatures with the API

    Technically it does not return viewbox data. It returns the svg icon data so embed the response in an html page and it works. See attached sample from your response (note had to zip up the file for the upload to work)

        What Glen said. :-) I will definitely bring that up on TransForm Tuesday.
