Looking for overall advice on how to structure a long checklist.
Here's my situation. In the field employees will gather data for an upcoming job. There could be 50 or so questions to be asked and the answers can be simple text input, true/false, multiple choice, long text and measurements (short text). The number of questions that will be have to be answered will vary depending on the scope of the job.
I have built this as a standard UX and coded each question. This is cumbersome when one of the managers decides that a different piece of information needs to be collected. I have to rewtire the UX and reformat the data tables. What I want to do is build an overall list of questions and the list has an indicator of the type of response. So if question A requires True / False, Question B could require a drop down, etc. I will save the responses in a separate table that is linked back to the specific job.
I thought I had seen a video a couple years back about how to do something like this using a JSON string, I cannot seem to find it.
Is this a good use for a viewbox? I haven't really dug into the viewbox but if it's the right way to go I will do more digging. Or is there a way to do it with custom editors?
I did build a list and then have a frame appear with the proper type of control when the user selects the question in the list. Seems like there might be a better way...
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks
