Hi All.
I have a Web project where I need to publish to different folders so I have
www.mysite.co.nz/chc
www.mysite.co.nz/inv
www.mysite.co.nz/kat
Now in essence they are totally identical except they point to different database ... on the same server
TestnetOnline_CHC
TestnetOnline_INV
TestnetOnline_KAT
YES... I know this structure of different databases is weird but it is because we are linking to an old Desktop app so I have to live with this slightly weird setup.
Anyhow I thought this was all cool and groovy as in each web publishing profile I have defined the AlphaDAO Connection string to point to the correct database.
as per screen shots here ConnStrings Issue1.PNG ConnStrings Issue2.PNG
But I am always getting the data from the INV database which is the connection string that is in the development connection string.
Has anyone else tried this? I can't find any recent posts about this on the message-board there was one post dating back to ver10 but than they said the issues was fixed in ver11
I can see the correct connection string in the published a5_application.A5I file as per screenshot 3 ConnStrings Issue3.PNG
But the List is always showing data from the INV database not in this example the KAT database
One other thing is this List is configured for "Persist data to Local Storage" If that may have some effect on this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am stumped
Or...
Option 2... If anyone can tell me how to change the definition of a named connection string on the fly, then I could also maybe do this with one web Profile and pick the Branch (database) at Login time
P.S. I am running version 12.4.5.5.0 Build 5667
Thanks in advance
Bruce
